1. Does teeth whitening really work?
Of course it does! The surface of the teeth contains millions of microscopic pores, and over the years, organic compounds from food, sodas, tea, coffee or tobacco penetrate these pores causing discoloration of the tooth enamel. Almost all natural teeth respond to the whitening process, however some people’s teeth take longer to whiten such as those with tetracycline antibiotic staining.

2. How does the Ultra Whitening system work?
Teeth whitening is actually a bleaching process that lightens discolorations of the tooth enamel. The Ultra Whitening process uses a foam strip impregnated with a peroxide-based gel that is inserted into a disposable double-sided mouthpiece / lens; the gel is then activated by our patented blue-LED / UV light system. As the active ingredient in the foam strips (hydrogen peroxide), is broken down, the U.V. light and the warmth acts upon the stained organic deposits, which oxidizes them into a white color. This process makes the overall tooth color closer to its natural unstained color. Your tooth structure remains unchanged. Years of clinical tests have demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of this system.

3. How long does it take?
Unlike other whitening treatments that can take hours, days or even weeks, The Ultra Whitening treatments only require 15 minutes per treatment. Most clients see the desired results in one treatment, while some clients will choose to have multiple treatments to obtain the brightest smile possible (discounts are available for multiple treatments).

5. Does whitening work on veneers, crowns, bridges and fillings?
If a crown is already been in place for many years, the whitening process can return the rest of the teeth to the original shade prior to the crown placement, but typically crowns do not lighten in color with the Ultra Whitening process. The same is true for composites, bridges, and veneers.

9. Can anyone have their teeth whitened?
Not everyone, but most people can have their teeth whitened by Ultra Whitening. While this technology is well proven throughout Europe and is completely safe, for precautionary purposes it is not recommended for people younger than 16 years old, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, individuals that have had oral surgery within the past 30 days, or who have unhealthy teeth / gum disease.

10. Is the gel and peroxide you offer the same as from my family dentist?

The active ingredient contained in all whitening products is hydrogen peroxide. Research shows that this active ingredient is capable of penetrating the surface of the tooth enamel without affecting it. In this way hydrogen peroxide removes stains caused by smoking, coffee, red wine or simply the ageing process. The Ultra Whitening system utilizing the blue-LED / UV light system simply accelerates the process, saving you time and money.

11. How long before I can eat or drink after my treatment?
We recommend drinking plenty of water (1-2 bottles) during the first 2-3 hours after your Ultra Whitening treatment, as the pores of your teeth are open more during this time and the water will continue to cleanse and whiten your teeth. During the first 24 hours we would recommend to avoid coffee, tea, dark colored sodas, red wines, berries, candy, red sauces, beets, or any foods that have the propensity to stain. Remember if it leaves a tee shirt stained it will stain your teeth.
